This is what to do if you had tickets for Cats’ postponed game
Blackpool have issued guidance to Sunderland supporters with tickets for this weekend’s postponed League One fixture.
The Black Cats were set to travel to Bloomfield Road today [Saturday, March 14], but all EFL fixtures have now been suspended until April 3 due to the outbreak of coronavirus. And Blackpool have now advised Sunderland supporters to hold onto their tickets as they will remain valid for the rearranged fixture – which will be confirmed in due course.
Supporters are also asked not to contact the Tangerines’ ticket office, which will now be closed until March 23. A statement from Blackpool read: “Blackpool’s first-team fixtures against Sunderland (14 March), Shrewsbury Town (21 March) and Peterborough United (29 March), as well as all reserve, youth team and academy games during that period, have been postponed.
“These actions have been taken in response to the developing situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to help prevent and contain the spread of the virus.
“Blackpool Football Club has already taken a number of its own precautionary measures at the stadium and will now close its reception, ticket office and club shop from 5pm today until 9am on Monday, March 23, at the earliest. Supporters will still be able to order items online, however.
“All tickets purchased for fixtures affected by the postponements will remain valid for the rearranged dates, once confirmed.”
A number of Sunderland supporters have still opted to travel to the North West despite the postponement.
