Staying mentally healthy
The Church of England has updated its mental health resources, and online access to them is free. There are 13 themed reflections on such topics as Loneliness, Time Well Spent, Switching Focus, Worrying, and Eat, Rest, Sleep. Everyone is invited to v isit cofe.io/MentalHealth for more information.
Grand Central reduced timetable
From March 23, a reduced timetable has been running on the line between London King’ s Cross and Sunderland.
Hospital RVA changes
The Royal Voluntary Service has decided to close all of its seating areas in its hospital cafes across the region until further notice. A takeaway service will still operate.
Houghton Methodist Church
In line with other churches, services are cancelled until further notice. However the Methodist Church website, www.methodist.org.uk, will have a weekly home service sheet for downloading. It will also carry links to streamable services on a Sunday at 10.30am and 11am.

Autism walk cancelled
The North East Autism Society’s (NEAS) Walk for Autism Acceptance, due to take place in Herrington Country Park on April 17, has now been cancelled.
Sunderland City Runs
This year’s 5k, 10k and half marathon event has been postposed but is scheduled to take place on the weekend of September 26 and 27. More details will follow in due course.
RSPB nature reserves
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has now closed all its nature reserves to visitors until further notice. In a letter to members chief executive Beccy Speight said: “being in nature can be a great comfort at a time like this and I recognise that not being able to visit these cherished places will come as a blow. Choral Society concert
Because of the coronavirus crisis, Bishopwearmouth Choral Society regrets that the spring concert, scheduled to be held on April 4, has now been cancelled.
