Global music stars helping motivate Brits stuck at home

-

ix of the world’s biggest music stars are helping people keep fit and active at home with a new playlist series.

Listeners can lunge with Zara Larsson, star jump with DJ Steve Aoki or pump iron with J Balvin.

The new six part fitness series is exclusive to music streaming service Deezer. The line-up also includes MTV Award winner YungBlud, Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke and Five Finger Death Punch.

All tracks in the playlists were hand-picked by Deezer editors to match the desired BPM for each workout. For those wanting to pump iron, tracks around 170 BPM will keep you lifting. Jogging? 140 BPM is your sweet spot for endurance. There’s even an ideal speed for cooling down – somewhere between 60 and 80 BPM will bring that heart rate back to normal.

New research from Deezer during lockdown found six out of ten Brits workout better when someone’s motivating them.

Fitness company Gymbox Master Trainer Jenny Lawford

Ssaid: “With millions of us at home all day, every day, it’s harder than normal to stay focused on our personal fitness. I’ve always noticed how people train even harder when they’re pushed and motivated by someone, so I’m sure the new Deezer playlists will help people get up and active. We’re in this together so it’s great to see global artists lend their voices in different ways.”

Nigel Harding of Deezer said: “Now that we’re all stuck indoors, staying motivated can be tough. But during lockdown, music is a huge part of influencing what we do and how we feel. We know you’re already trying to push harder with our Sports Motivation playlist, which has boomed in the last few weeks. But it’s still tough to keep pushing when every day looks the same. Our Workout With… series aims to give you that extra motivation, with your favourite artists becoming part of your exercise regime.

Deezer connects 16 million monthly active users around the world to 56 million tracks.
