Cupboard firm has order in bag

-

A new Durham-based firm which is changing the way homes are built is celebrating a significant new contract.

Apex Core, which designs, develops and manufactures prefabricated utility cupboards has secured an order for 480 units from Imtech Engineering Services, one of the largest mechanical and engineering companies in the country.

The cupboards are increasingly being used across the construction sector, as they arrive on site fully assembled and ready to simply plug-in to homes’ main utilities.

Apex Core was only launched at the start of this year, with parent company, Apex Wiring Solutions (AWS), assembling a team of specialists and investing over £500,000 to create the UK’s largest utility cupboard manufacturing facility at its headquarters on the outskirts of Durham City.

The new contract will see Apex Core deliver the units to the 212 Broadstreet development starting in June, for a project that is the largest residential tower in Birmingham.

Apex Wiring Solutions directors, Dave and Mike Lewis, are delighted with the order.

Dave said: “We knew there was a market but even so the interest in the Apex Core products has been overwhelming.

“They are products that save time, manpower and waste, and increase safety.

“They are simple to fit and, at the moment, also offer a neat solution to social distancing issues, because only one person is required to install each element of the system.”
