From video call to flowers, now is ideal time to share your gifts
Five of the best gifts you can send during the coronavirus pandemic include flowers, gift cards and experiences.
Experts from personal finance website TheMoneyPig.com have researched some of the best items to send friends and family in lockdown, whether this be to celebrate their birthday, anniversary or just because they are missed.
Many online shops are still open albeit working with reduced staff numbers to enable them to follow social distancing guidelines.
This does mean that orders can still be placed, but it may take longer for items to be delivered.

Ordering and personalising cards online has been an option for many years now, and this service hasn’t stopped. With the option to add images on the front of the cards to remind the receiver of happier times, a friendly face and message might be just what they need.
Flowers are a great way to lift spirits, no matter what the circumstances are. Whether you send plants for them to put into their garden for them to enjoy year after year, or a bouquet of flowers which will brighten the rooms they’ve been sitting in more than ever, they’re sure to be well received.
Many retailers offer gift cards, and some offer e-gift cards meaning that nothing is needed to be picked up or delivered and transactions can be placed from the comfort of your own home, before being delivered to the recipients’ email address.
Gift cards are great because they can let the receiver buy exactly what they want, meaning the worry of “will they like it” is eradicated.
With many of us now having a lot of time on our hands, why not organise a video call where you can have a proper catch up with the birthday boy or girl. Grab a drink to toast them and enjoy spending quality time with one another - albeit through a screen.
Experiences can still be bought online and used once lockdown is over. This will give the receiver something to look forward to. You can even opt for a two-person experience meaning that you can join in on the fun too, while spending quality time with your friend or family member. Make sure the expiry date isn’t too soon.
