No new deaths from virus at NHS trust

There have been no new coronaviru­s-related deaths reported in Sunderland’s NHS Trust yesterday.

According to the latest figures released by Public Health England yesterday no new coronaviru­s-related deaths at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust have been announced, meaning the total number of deaths at the trust remains at 320.

In total, 1,350 people who had tested positive for coronaviru­s have died across the North East’s hospital trusts.

Nationally, a further 143 people, who tested positive for the Corona virus( C OVID -19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,865.

Deaths are announced on an NHS trust level – there is no breakdown of the number of deaths per hospital.

According to NHS England, the breakdown of the number of deaths of people who tested positive for coronaviru­s at North East hospitals includes:

Northumbri­a Healthcare­NHS Foundation Trust –

Total number of deaths at the trust: 191 Number of deaths announced yesterday: 0

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust –

Total number of deaths at the trust: 122 Number of deaths announced yesterday: 2

South Tees NHS Foundation Trust–

Total number of deaths at the trust: 237 Number of deaths announced yesterday: 6

Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust –

Total number of deaths at the trust: 113

Number of deaths announced on June 2: 0
