Sunderland named as lockdown’s sexiest place
Sunderland has been named as the ‘sexiest’ place in the UK as one retailer has reported a boom in sales of sex toys in the city during lockdown.
The city has topped the list of most sexually active locations in lockdown with an 82% rise in spending on ‘sexual pleasure’, according to online sextoy retailer, Lovehoney.
So Lovehoney asked Charlotte Crosby why she thinks the people from her home city of Sunderland are the most passionate.
The MTV star, who is now starring in her own reality series The Charlotte Show, told Lovehoney: “I always knew Mackems were the most passionate – now here’s the proof!
"Ha’way the lads and lasses of Sunderland – they are proper canny!”
The 30-year-old said: “Anyone watching the recent Netflix series Sunderland ‘Til I Die knows just how passionate we are. That passion doesn’t just extend to football.
“We ooze confidence – it’s why we punch massively above our weight as a city and so many Mackems are doing so well around the world.
“We love having a good time – the North East is the party capital of the UK and Sunderland is the epicentre of all the fun.
“We love to laugh – Mackems are the funniest people going.
“Having a great sense of humour is really sexy.”
“We love taking the lead – okay not on the football pitch, but definitely in the bedroom, especially the lasses!”
Lovehoney says it came to its conclusions after it analysed spending habits in 750 towns and cities throughout the UK to discover how lockdown had impacted on passion.
