Former Black Cats pair secure new clubs

-

Former Sunderland duo Max Stryjek and Tom Beadling have secured new clubs.

Stryjek, who had been playing for Stewart Donald’s former club Eastleigh, has signed a three-year deal with Scottish side Livingston FC.

The 24-year-old had featured 43 times for Eastleigh last season.

A Livingston statement read: “Having worked through the academy ranks at Sunderland after joining from MKS Polonia as a youth in 2013, the Warsaw-born ‘keeper enjoyed loan spells at Boston United, Accrington Stanley and Eastleigh, before joining “The Spitfires” permanently last Summer.

"In the initial loan spell at Eastleigh, he made 15 appearances, only losing twice and keeping five clean sheets. He saved a penalty on his debut to quickly endear himself to supporters.”

Stryjek has represented Poland at U17, U18, U19 and U21 level.

Meanwhile, another former academy graduate, Tom Beadling has signed a twoyear deal with Barrow.

Beadling, who can play in either defence or midfield, is from Barrow and was one of three new signings announced by his hometown club, with former Hartlepool United forward Luke James also agreeing a deal.

League Two Barrow, who were promoted from the National League last season, tweeted: “A huge welcome to midfielder Tom Beadling, who also joins us on a two year deal! The former Sunderland and Dunfermline Athletic man is our third signing.”

Beadling, who played for Sunderland Under-23s in the Checkatrade Trophy, didn't make a first-team appearance during his time on Wearside.
