Pringle and Bridge shine as Burnmoor see off Eden

In reply, the visitors also lost early wickets and slumped to 69-6, as Jamie Willis (2-33) and Will Barnham (2-55) ripped out the top order.

However, Ash Thorpe came to the rescue with a great knock of 44 not out from 71 balls, which included six fours and get his team over the line on 170-8.

Chester-Le-Street were comfortabl­e winners at home to Sacriston, at Ropery Lane.

They racked up 228-5, with Jacob McCann leading the way with 76 from 93 balls, which included seven fours and a six and Quentin Hughes made 59 from 77 balls.

The visitors lost early wickets and although Solomon Bell made 38, the bowling was solid throughout and the home side won by 107 runs.

Willington lost at home to Burnopfiel­d, as they scored 149 all out, with Liam O’Donnell smashing 48 from 58 balls, batting at number ten, as Callum Brown was the pick of the bowling returning 3-17.

The visitors opener John Oswell made 42 and skipper Chris Peareth made 38 not out, to steer his team to victory on 151-4, despite Cameron O'Donnell claiming 3-26 with the ball.

In Frank Lees Cup Group A, South Shields welcomed

Silksworth and the home side were asked to bat first.

They made a mammoth score of 246-5, as Luke Elliott with 72 from 73 balls, which included 11 fours, Chris Rainbow 41, Ben Scott 42 and Eliott Campbell made 31 not out.

The visitors started brightly as Andy Barrass scored 31 and Paul Smailes 39, as they put on 60 for the first wicket.

However, Liam Dixon with 3-28 turned the match and they ended up on 163 all out, putting Shields at the top of the table.

Hylton are second after a two wicket win over Marsden.

The visitors made 99 all out, Neil Cairns top scoring with 34, while Tom Nixon claimed 4-16 and there were two wickets apiece for Ian Male and Marlon Black.

The home side then made a steady start, but began to lose regular wickets, thanks to Colin Mann 3-17 and two wickets each for Chris Mann and Adam Sneller, but a vital 20 not out from Tom Nixon, saw his team home on 102-8.

Boldon CA were well beaten by nine wickets, at home to Seaham Park. Jack Lacey claimed 4-23 and John Sample 3-5, to bowl the home side out for just 83 runs.

The visitors then made light work of the chase, finishing on 84-1.

Dawdon Welfare were big winners at Bill Quay, as they amassed 203 all out, thanks to skipper Steven Gale making 51, Nathan Newton 37 and James Dent 27, while Adam Reynar took the bowling plaudits with 3-27.

The home side never got going against some good bowling , as Harry Morgan claimed 3-18 and Bradley Robinson 4-30, ending up on just 84 all out and lose the game by 119 runs.

In the Banks Bowl East Group, Philadelph­ia’s second XI gained revenge on behalf of their first team, beating Sunderland 2nds by 71 runs, Alex Davison hitting 38 and Stephen Robinson taking 3-16.
