Centre Lucock ‘excited’ to become third summer signing at Falcons
Giving his new supporters anideaofwhattheycanexpect, Lucock said: “I like to be physicalinattackanddefence,trying tolinktheforwardsandbacks.
“I play mainly at 12, although I’ve played a bit at 13, andwillobviouslyjustgowherever the coaches need me.
“Newcastle play a pretty wide game so I’d like to think I can contribute towards that, and it’s definitely a factor in choosing a club which hopefully suits your style of play.”
Director of rugby Dean Richards welcomed Lucock’s signing, saying: “Pete has been anoutstandingperformerfora numberofyearsnow,andfully deserves this opportunity.
“He joins a very competitive squad which is coming together nicely ahead of the new season,andIbelievehehasthe quality to bring out the best in the players around him.”
Lucock is Newcastle’s third new signing, following the arrivals of Argentina centre Matias Orlando and Italian lock Marco Fuser.
AdamRadwan,meanwhile, has pledged his future to the Falcons until the summer of 2023.
The23-year-oldwastheFalcons’toptry-scorerduringlast season’s unbeaten campaign, touching down 14 times in 15 games in a year which saw Newcastle win all 22 of their matches.
Radwan, who was born in North Yorkshire, played his junior rugby with Middlesbrough, Billingham, and Hartlepool Sixth Form College before joining the Falcons’ academy, also starring for Darlington Mowden Park in National One.
Boasting a total scoring record of 29 tries in his 35 first team games for Newcastle, the former Anglo-Welsh Cup Breakthrough Award winner said: “It was a no-brainer for me in terms of signing the new contract extension.
“I love playing for the Falcons, there’s a really exciting future for the club following our promotion back into the Premiership.”
