There are calls for people to receive full pay if they are contacted by NHS Test and Trace and told to isolate for 14 days amid fears people are reluctant to do so as they will not be paid, or may be at risk of losing their job.
Shaun Sayers: The system is only as good as the level of cooperation it receives. For one reason or another there will always be groups that won’t cooperate, which can easily account for the 20% uncontactable that keeps getting quoted. The self employed will be reluctant to self isolate, especially if symptom free. People living or working here illegally won’t feel able to cooperate, and then there are those that just seem openly defiant to whatever the government tries to do.
Charlotte McGinn: If this isn’t implemented then people are simply not going to cooperate with the system properly
Ken Ellison: Soon as they realise that people will do what they want and take no notice then the chip will be implanted... you may laugh but its coming maybe not this year maybe not next but its coming . And the only people who will twist and put up a fight are those with something to hide

Colquhoun: We need to penalise those who do not follow the guidelines and use the money to fund innocent people who are forced to self-isolate
Bill Middlemas: I'm a full supporter of all of the requests to reduce the spread of the virus, however I can work from home. Not everyone can and I can fully understand their reluctance to follow the track and trace rules. Sometimes it's not about the person's willingness to comply, but their need to pay the bills and eat. I do believe that the Government should support a person who is told to isolate.
