in relation to two women between 2008 and 2014 but he was convicted by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court in July 2018.

The court heard that more than 19,000 images of women were found on Altaii’s devices by police. He was jailed for 14 months.

Altaii was also banned for life from practising in this country by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) who struck him from the Medical Register in 2019.

Law firm Ben Hoare Bell LLP are already instructed by victims who know they were filmed by Altaii to pursue claims for damages for the significant distress suffered.

But the firm believes it is possible, given the large number of images taken, that many more women who saw Altaii were covertly filmed yet remain unaware of that fact even today.

Ben Hoare Bell LLP is now looking to identify those women.

Andrew Freckleton, solicitor and partner at Ben Hoare Bell LLP, said: “Thair Altaii’s actions have had a significant impact upon his victims who are still suffering from his actions to this day.

"We already represent several victims who know they were filmed by him.

"We believe, however, given the large number of images taken it is possible many more women who saw Thair Altaii were covertly filmed yet remain unaware of that fact even today.

"We feel it is only right that anyone who was a victim of Thiar Altaii’s actions knows this.

"We are therefore asking former patients of Thair Altaii to contact us if they have any concerns that they may have been filmed.

"We will then seek the answers they deserve.”

Former patients are asked to contact solicitors Andrew Freckleton and Richard Hardy for further advice on: 0191 565 3112 or email advice@benhoarebell.co.uk
