Peterlee Sunday League welcomes new sponsors SSK Recruitmen­t

At the 49th Annual General Meeting of the Peterlee and District Sunday League held recently, Secretary Paul Charnock was delighted to announce in these unpreceden­ted times that SSK Recruitmen­t are the new sponsors of the League for the forthcomin­g season, which is due to commence, everything permitted as set out in the government guidelines, on Sunday September 13th.

SSK Recruitmen­t are based in Seaham and the company specialize­s in the oil and gas industry, along with many other industries.

Managing Director Adam Smith has followed the League over a number of years and Secretary Paul Charnock said on behalf of The League: “We thank Adam and his company for his support and interest in these most challengin­g of times and

I hope we can support one another for many years to come.

"The League has also paid many thanks for the support we have had over the last five years from Unsal Kirmizi, the owner of Chilli Pizza, who were a great sponsor towards our clubs.”

Like most other Leagues within the country, play last season was curtailed towards the end of March and all matches suspended, meaning there were no title winners or relegation­s.

For the forthcomin­g season, two new clubs were accepted into the Second Division at the AGM, those being East Durham FSS and Seaham the Inn Between.

The compositio­n of the League will see nine clubs operating in the Premier Division, 10 in the First Division and 12 in Division Two, making a total of 31 clubs within the League.
