The stranglers dedicate last full uK tour to keyboard player
Punk legends The Stranglers have rescheduled their final full UK tour until next year and are dedicating it to their founding keyboard player Dave Greenfield who died of coronavirus earlier this year.
The current band members are Jet Black, JeanJacques Burnel and Baz Warne.
A statement on the Stranglers website reads: Dave’s death has been an absolute tragedy and mere words cannot describe our deep sense of loss and the sheer, raw emotion that we have felt over the past month.
“Dave was our dear friend and bandmate and we will miss him forever.
“The loss has had an absolutely devastating effect on us as a band and we’ve spent a lot of time in reflection and discussing the future.”
The tour kicks off on what would have been Dave’s birthday, March 29, in Lincoln.
It has also been decided that the tour should finish at the Corn Exchange in Dave’s adopted hometown of Cambridge, a fitting finale to the tour.
