Latest COVID-19 rate for city dips
The rolling seven-day rate of new coronavirus cases in Sunderland has dropped slightly, as 20 new cases are confirmed in one week.
The figures are based on testscarriedoutinlaboratories (pillaroneoftheGovernment’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).
Theyrecordconfirmedcases for the seven-day period to Saturday, August 15.
Sunderland’s latest case rate is recorded as being at 7.2 per 100,000 people for that time period.
With 20 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the seven days.
The rolling rate is based on Public Health England data published on Tuesday, August 18ontheGovernment’scoronavirus online dashboard.
The new number is reduction of 0.4 from the previous seven-dayperiod–uptoSaturday, August 8 – where the case ratewas7.6per100,000people, with 21 cases recorded.
