Had little to do in open play and was left frustrated in the penalty shoot-out. 5
LUKE O’NIEN
Perhaps should have done better with a free header early on. Got forward regularly and was unlucky not to yield an assist when Grigg was flagged offside when turning home his good low cross. 6
JORDAN WILLIS
One or two of those now trademark surges forward from deep, and eased through his defensive work with little trouble. 6
BAILEY WRIGHT
Dominated his battles first with Tom Eaves and then with Kean Lewis-Potter. Looked like he had never been away after months since his last appearance. 7
Looked comfortable on the left side of defence. Saw less possession than we have become used to but a strong one-two with Wyke almost led to a goal. 6
DENVER HUME
Delivered some excellent crosses and to that end was unlucky not to play a part in a goal. Also went close with a good header. 7
MAXPOWER
Parkinson sprung a surprise by releasing Power to play higher than usual. He has so often been the holding midfielder but had far greater licence here and in the first half in particular, looked to relish it. Scored a good penalty. 7
GEORGE DOBSON
Sat a little deeper than usual and was good in the opening exchanges, covering ground and keeping the ball moving. 6
Missed a big opportunity to give his side the lead in the opening moments after showing typically good awareness in the box. 6
Will rue the one-on-one opportunity he missed midway through the first half, firing wide with the goal at his mercy. That would have capped off an encouraging debut. 6
So unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet, twice turning the ball into the back of the net before hearing the referee’s whistle. Produced a strong display full of threatening and intelligent running. Was unlucky to be the player to miss the crucial penalty. 6 Subs
CHARLIE WYKE
Drew one decent stop from Ingram after a clever one-two with Flanagan. 6
Little time to make an impact in the final third. Took a typically superb penalty. 5
