Hill hits a hat-trick as Town see off Park View
In the Fourth Division, Birtley Town enjoyed their opening game in the Sunderland league with a close 5-3 win over league stalwarts Park View.
Birtley had Dan Hill score a hat-trick and Cuthbertson hit two to see them on their way to victory but then Park View rallied back with Dixon, Robson and Conley goals.
A Daniel Dobson treble ensured the points for Doxford Athletic and helped them to a 5-3 win over Philadelphia Castle FC.
The away team replied through goals from McCann 2 and McClintock but a double from Teasdale finished the game off for Doxford
Whitburn SC have welcomed their first point of the season and are hoping to better last seasons points tally, they earned it with a 2-2 draw against new boys Albion FC.
