Big shots; but no hits!

-

Ged Taylor again deploys the scatter gun tactic in his letter "Boris leaves me fuming." He lets fly at several issues hoping he scores a hit in one. Again he misses.

He first has a pop at Government "U turns". I am pleased that with this unprecedented new pandemic we have a Government that does not just stick to dogmatic policies but is flexible enough to react to fast

developing changes.

He then make the strange claim that Boris Johnson is rushing through a Bill allowing grouse shooting and fox hunting.

This he claims is to please "Boris Johnson's friends".

Well for a start grouse shooting is not illegal so why would a Bill be proposed to make it legal? As for fox hunting I can find no evidence of a Bill to allow fox hunting.

Again this is already allowed in a restricted form courtesy of Tony Blair's Act. Perhaps Ged Taylor can provide us with the name of the alleged Bill? I doubt it will be forthcoming.

He then moves to comparisons in the fight against Covid-19 and sticks rigidly to using Germany as the country to compare against. Why not use France, Spain & Portugal to compare deaths in the past 14 days, daily cases per million, daily deaths per million. Of course he

wont as these do not fit his agenda.

He may also like to look at the comparisons for tests per thousand people. The UK beats all similar European countries including Germany.

Yes there have been things that could have been handled better but it is not all doom.
