A huge bridge which will carry tens of thousands of vehicles every day on the A19 is now in place as a £124.5 million upgrade of Testo's Roundabout.

Christina Walker: Will be fab when its finished the flyover at silver link has made such a difference to journey times that side of the tunnel looking forward to this doing the same how can people be saying it's a waste of money its progression to a safer and speedier journey

Ian Holt: From the picture I was hopeful of Sunderlands first Grand Prix circuit ...but I’m just as happy that it’s another flyover that I’ll never use but thankful for the thousands of motorists and lorries that will use it and make their life easier.

Emily Hughes: For 15 years I've been driving to Jarrow and back each day just wishing they would build a flyover at testos, finally the dream starts to come true then low and behold I get made redundant don't bloody need to drive that way anymore!

David Potts: I read that this will save 4 minutes from each journey over that stretch. It'll take several years to make up the time added on during all the construction! However it'll be a welcome addition when complete...

Mark Lisle: Can't wait till it's up and running, money well spent in my eyes.

Peter Edwards: Didn't know Alan Carr had a career change!)

Tony Dixon: They should change that namealways call it the Tesco's roundabout by mistake.

Alex Pyper: Opening the gateway to the North East The Port of Tyne and Scotland. I think its a winner.

Lynn Appleby: Been through today - shocking down to 1 lane . why bother - road to nowhere not needed costing a fortune

George Conley: Who's doing the welding?

Kirsty Trotter: Don't miss the daily drive by but it's come along loads

Raymond Rocky Matuszek: Impressive

Gary Holmes: Taken long enough. Germans would of had that knocked up in 6 month.
