We want to turn our home into a fortress, says Cole
Silks worth CW manager Jamie Cole is adamant that his side will “underestimate nobody” ahead of their home game against winless Washington United.
The Wear side League new-boys have showed signs of promise in the opening month of their maiden season – but have taken just one point from their first four games.
Despite that underwhelming record, Cole stressed that his side can’t show any complacency as they look to continue their positive start to the season.
He told The Echo: “We underestimate nobody in our league, and anyone can beat anyone in our league.
“It was harsh that we didn’ t get a draw against Richmond on Saturday, but were grouped, we made changes and the questions we asked were answered by the lads.
“We want to try and make Silky Park a fortress, other teams do it and hopefully we can keep that up on Saturday.”
Kieran Beattie is expected to be the only absentee from the Silksworth squad, but their visitors are definitely without Callum Reay and Michael Parkin.
Boldon CA will hope to stretch their perfect record to six consecutive wins when they visit Coxhoe Athletic on
Saturday.
Manager David Crumbie will be without the injured Stephen Ramsey and Tom Williams – but is boosted by the return of Sam Attewell, Codie Howe and Jack Dykes.
A win for Crumbie’s men would see them leap frog second-placed Chester-leStreet United and move level on points with league leaders
Horden CW, who are without a game this weekend.
FC Hartlepool have a number of injury concerns ahead of their home game against Norton and Stockton Ancients.
Terry Hill will be without Mike Snowdon, Connor Campbell and Robert Hammond after they were all ruled out of the game.
Luke Nay l or rated as doubtful, but there was some good news for Hill as Jack Turnbull, Ash Clark and Ben Thacker all look set to return to contention.
Mikey McGee and Scott Ryan are doubts for Wolviston as they look to recover from their 7-1 midweek hammering at Boldon when they travel to Darlington Town.
