On Sunday, in the SSK Recruitmen­t Peterlee & District Sunday League, from 13 John & Pat McManus Memorial Cup first round ties played, 109 goals were scored.

D aw d o n We l f a re Pa rk crushed Peterlee Acre Rigg Social Club 13-0 with hat- tricks from Robbie Bird and Denver Morris, also scoring were Adam Cullen (2), Niall Crosby (2), Paul Henderson, Jonathan Hodgson and Callum Munro.

Easington CIU hammered Easington Southside 10-0, with a hat-trick from Liam Adamson, plus goals from Rob Huntley (2), Andrew Stephenson (2), Dylan Hood, Liam Cooke and sub Jay Harwood, and Seaham Parkside beat Easington Welfare by the same scoreline thanks to a Reece Lee hat-trick, a brace from Dan Simpson along with efforts from Bailey Hogwood, Youssef Oumzil, Sean Kavanagh, Billy Chisholm, and Dean Bulmer.

Easington Leather Cap battered Seaham Inn Between 9-3 with a hat-trick from Jordan Williams, plus goals from Sean Ryder, Ewan James, Jack Maskell, Ian Tumilty, Matty Pattison and Reece Marshall.

Premier Division Easington Lane WMC sunk First Division Seaham the Knack 4-3, Jordan Garside netting twice while Anthony Blane and Jack Bowman also struck for the winners.

Joe Spalding scored all four in Peterlee Helford United’s 4-1 success over Seaham Oddfellows Arms, while Peterlee Catholic Club beat Roseberry Park FC 6-0 thanks to a Reece Kenney double along with efforts from Kyle Middleton, Layton Hall, Gary Shaw and Oliver Hotchkiss.

Shotton Comrades beat Horden JD’s Bar 7-2 with a Peter Johnson brace along with goalsfromL­ancelot Brightwell, Luke Pearn, Nathan Grainger, Tony Hewitt and Ian Watson. Two goals each from Dan Unsworth and Liam Owen helped Wingate Howden beat Horden United 6-2.
