‘Needed a reaction ... and got a poor one’

-

Sunderland fans have taken to social media to vent their frustrations after the Black Cats dropped points at Rochdale.

Goals from Charlie Wyke and Bailey Wright weren’t enough for Phil Parkinson’s side, who were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after a 2-2 draw.

And fans haven’t been shy in voicing their opinions on the performance and result – with many demanding an improvement in the coming weeks.

Here's what supporters were saying on social media:

@buntingfootball said: “It's a point away from home but no disrespect to Rochdale, have to be winning those games. Leading twice and throwing it away isn't good enough. Very poor performance as well and probably actually lucky to get a draw. Needed a reaction after Saturday and got a poor one.”

@MichaelBowers15 added: “As much as Rochdale will be happy with that point that they did deserve, that match was easily there for #SAFC tonight. I’m angrier at this result than I was on Saturday. Obviously season isn’t over by any stretch but come on - puts pressure on Gillingham & Ipswich now.”

@PlannerMarj commented: “’ll say it again, in the summer once again we did not address the lack of pace and power in the team. We needed a few big lads with some speed and brute force to allow us to change the dynamic of the side when we need to. “

@tongey93 tweeted: “Very poor.Dobsongavetheballaway far too much, Gooch couldn't control the ball and tries to roll his man when the ball is 10yrd aways. Graham didn't do anything but had no service. Was such a sloppy game. Honestly one of the worst standard of game I've ever seen”
