Return to gigging singing Costello’s dark secret songs

-

It’s back on the road with a live gig on November 7 for My Darling Clementine with Steve Nieve.

The live date comes on the back of new album Country Darkness and new single The Crooked Line.

It will be a welcome return for the familiar husband/wife pairing of Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish.

To launch the album, the duo is pleased to announce a special one-off show at Bury’s The Met on Saturday November 7 – the day after the album’s release.

Their first live appearance since lockdown, the show is guaranteed to feature many Costello songs from the new album, as well as classics from MDC’s acclaimed canon.

Fans can attend in person, by booking either a table or individual seats. Social distancing measures will be in place and tickets are highly limited, so early booking is strongly recommended. For those unable to attend, the show will also be streamed online.

Tickets are on sale now and priced from £15 for individual seats. The show starts at 7.45pm.

Speaking about the launch show at The Met, Michael Weston King of the band, said: “After the disappointment of having to postpone our October 30 show [at Thornton Hough’s Village Club], we are delighted to announce a new show for November 7 at one of our favourite venues, The Met in Bury … This will be a full band show and feature song from the new album Country Darkness – as well as plenty from the MDC back catalogue”

The new album throws a spotlight on 12 hidden gems from the Elvis Costello repertoire, vividly reimagines them in the duet’s definitive country-soul styling. As avid admirers of Costello’s rich back catalogue since his “angry young man” earliest days, Country Darkness arrives as both a salutation to the man himself and something of a labour of love for My Darling Clementine.
