-

BBC Radio 1 DJ and Sunderland University graduate Jordan North could be swapping the studio for the jungle in this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

Ten years on from broadcasting live on Spark FM during winter storms from his Sunderland bedroom, Jordan North is rumoured to be a contestant on this year’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here.

However, Jordan will not be heading down under to Australia as the ITV show has been moved to Gwrych Castle in Wales due to th pandemic.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter is rumoured to be joining EastEnders favourite Shane Richie, Olympic legend Mo Farah and Coronation Street's Beverley Callard.

Jordan, aged 30, showed promise throughout his time at Sunderland University and presenting on Spark FM – the radio station which broadcasts from the David Puttnam Media Centre at St Peter’s Campus.

During the final year of his degree, he went on to win Bauer Radio’s competition to find the next generation of talent and landed his own Sunday show on The Hits Radio.

He has went on to host the 11 am - 1 pm slot on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday son BBC Radio 1. ITV has confirmed that the latest series of I’m A Celebrity will start on November 15 with North East duo Ant and Dec returning as hosts. Despite being set in a 200-year-old derelict castle, bosses of the show confirmed that familiar set staples, including the central camp fire, congregation and task areas and an outside toilet are all set to return for 2020.
