Stokoe strikes as Fleece beat Grangetown

In the Fifth Division The Fleece moved up the league win a fine win over Grangetown FC, leaving the visitors midtable.

Proudfoot, Marley and sub Adam Stokoe scored past Passmore to grab all three points.

Herrington are still joint top with Marley Potts after another thumping win over the Wheatsheaf.

Robinson (3), Stanness (2), Murphy, Shepherd and Wilde gave them the 8-1 win. Neesham got the hosts’ only goal.

Velocity United found it tough against FC Romano’s as they could only call on the bare 11 players and also lost there unbeaten streak.

Romano’s fired five past the visitors courtesy of three from Dan Richardson, Park and Josh Campbell.

Marley Pots are still leading the pack albeit on goals and they added a further eight after hammering Tyne & Wear 8-0.

Ryan Morse fired in a hattrick then subs Michael Taylor and Michael Bulmer scored two each. Stewart hit the last to keep the visitors near the drop zone.

AFC Downhill shocked Washington Athletic with a 7-0 win and stopped them in their tracks with there recent good win.

Matty Ayre stood out for Washington but Downhill had a host of scorers to take the points. Gardiner, Morris, Campion, McConville, Williams, Bramley and Middleton found the net.

Brett Spencelayh downed Vedra with a hat-trick and Bonallie and Marsh made sure the away side are left waiting for their first league win. Kye Horn scored Vedra’s consolatio­n.

In the Durham County Cup Washington Gardeners progressed after beating Seaham Roseberry Park 12-0 in a onesided cup clash.
