Time to get active again as centres reopen doors
Su n d e rl a n d c a n get m oving again as Everyone Active gyms announce they are reopening as Lockdown 2 lifts.
Silksworth Community Pool,Tennis and WellnessCentre, Silksworth Sports ComplexandSkiSlope,Washington Leisure Centre, Houghton Sports and Wellness Centre and Hetton Community Pool and Wellness Centre, managed by sports and leisure operator EveryoneActiveinpartnership with Sunderland City Council, reopen their doors today, following a month’s closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Raich Carter Sports Centre is also opening, although its pool will remain closed until further notice, with all Learn to Swim customers transferred to Sunderland Aquatic Centre where lessons will restart tomorrow. A further announcement about adult swimming lessons will be made soon.
The Government has confirmed all leisure centres across all tiers will be safe to reopen with strict operational measures in place.
