Been a long time coming
The decision by the government to reduce foreign aid is surely a long time coming especially when we are giving the Chinese £millions, the latest amount being £81million.
Why on earth has our government continued with this handout?
The NHS has and still is absorbing £billions in order to fight the virus.
The government are pouring money into towns and cities in an attempt to maintain living standards and yet they are still being harassed by Labour MPs no matter what the Conservative government do.
One remembers Keir Starmer, following Labour's disastrous election defeat, promising to support the government during these difficult times - some promise!
He has done little of that as he allows his Shadow
Minsters to criticise and harangue each decision and strategy being brought to Parliament.
Thank the common sense of the electorate to desert Corbyn's socialist manifesto and his leaning toward the EU.
In Boris we have a strong PM and his stance on independence for our sovereign state.
When we leave it will be as a state without any obligations to the EU!
The decision to reduce foreign aid has been a long time coming as Britain, the third largest contributor, of the G-7nations has decided to reduce the amount from. 0.7% to 0.5% while the current financial crisis continues.
Even so the UK still contributes more than the other G-7nations in aid for the poorer nations.
Getting back to China, it has ignored the settlements of 1992 and 1997 and introduced new laws suppressing the democratic rights given to the Hong Kong people.
Democracy has been dead in China since the Nationalist government retreated to Taiwan in 1949. Will Taiwan be their next disregard for democracy?
The western democracies are being challenged by China which is awakening from a long period of internal activities subjugation of its peoples and is now flexing its military muscles.
