‘Tis the season to send crooks to jail!

As early Christmas presents go, the jailing of Anthony Jarrett is a welcome festive treat. While we’re tucking into our turkey with the family, this serial fraudster will be spending time at Her Majesty’s pleasure.

And he fully deserves his punishment. As we reveal today, Jarrett, 43, fleeced a elderly woman out of almost £1,000 by charging her for work he simply didn’t do.

Taking advantage of the 88-year-old’s trust, Jarrett overcharge­d his victim and even used her bank card to help himself to cash.

The incident has left his victim feeling a loss of trust which must be devastatin­g for her and her family.

What is even more galling, is the fact that Jarrett had only just returned to the streets after spending time in prison for very similar offences. He pocketed more than £3,000 from 12 elderly victims using the same tactics.

Let’s hope he learns his lesson this time. And if you feel a sense of satisfacti­on as seeing this heartless crook jailed, you can help put more behind bars.
