Winter Wonderland brings some festive cheer

-

A Winter Wonder land at Rain ton Arena is bringing some festive cheer this Christmas.

Following the success of its inaugural Winter Wonderland in the car park of the arena last year, Rainton Arena has provided a socially-distanced version of the festive event which is running until January 3, 2021.

Children can enjoy a selection of fairground rides, a nice rink and a Santa’ s Grotto, along with a food and drink market that is takeaway only.

The event will also host a tipi with a bar and music, which will open if the current Tier 3 restrictions change.

Owner Jay Jo hal said: “We’ve got some amazing things lined up and we believe people will be blown away when they see it,” he said.

“We have worked incredibly hard to create an event which will be fully covid compliant, but will still bring the sheer magic of Christmas to families across the region.”

Entry is free to the event with charges for individual activities, which must be prebooked. Skating sessions are priced at £10 for adults, £8.50 for children and skate-aid hire at £4.

Admission to Santa’s Grotto is £13 per child, fairground rides cost from £2.50 and prices for the pantomime start at £12 for children and £18 for adults.

The Winter Wonderland will open Monday to Thursday from 4 pm –9 pm and Friday to Sunday from 11am9pm.

During Christmas week opening hours will be between 11am and 9pm and the venue will be closed on Christmas Day.
