Fitness centre gets food bank in good shape

Fitness business owner Graham Low has been busy making sure a local food bank is in good shape to help the needy.

Graham, founder of East Coast Fitness in Seaham, organised a large donation drive for food which for the food bank in St.Hild a n d St . H e l e n s C hu rc h i n Dawdon.

Community Church in Seaham runs a food bank every Tuesday between 10am and 12pm that provides food, advice, and a listening ear to local people in crisis.

During challengin­g times, Graham says he was delighted to see donations c o m e i n f ro m a l l ove r th e area.

He says it is not just the f i tn e s s c e ntre’s m e m b e r s who got involved but the efforts was helped by the families, friends and colleagues of clients.

Graham said: “All of these donations will make Christm a s a l i tt l e b i t e a s i e r f o r those in need.

“I am so impressed with the way our members have pulled together this Christmas to help support our local community.

"In the current climate a s i t i s i t i s eve n m o re i mportant now than ever before to extend a hand to help th o s e l e s s fo r tu n ate th a n ourselves.

"We w e r e e x t r e m e l y p roud to b e ab l e to ta ke such a large donation to the St Hilds and St Helens Food

Bank and hope that it makes a difference.”

Founded by Graham In 2015, East Coast Fitness has over 200 members.

Graham has bu ilt up a ke e p f i t c o m mu n i ty ove r the years which, he says, has been strengthen­ed in recent times.
