Property values rise £13 a day
Home owners in the North East saw the value of their property rise by over £13 a day during 2020, according to new figures.
New data from housing firm Zoopla says the average UK home price rose by £27.81 a day over the course of the year – £13.89 in the North East – despite the coronavirus crisis.
The firm says the total value of the UK's housing stock is now £9.06 trillion.
London property prices led the way – increased i n va l u e b y £ 1 9 , 6 0 9 i n 2020.
Grainne Gilmore, head of research at Zoopla, said: "The data reflects an increased demand for additional indoor and outdoor space.
"Some rural locations have seen a rise in activity levels as those no longer constrained by a daily commute look for a different style of living.”
