Watch the stars online in replays from The Old Vic
Drama fans have the opportunity to revisit two live-streamed performances featuring star actors Michael Sheen, David Threlfall, Claire Foy and Matt Smith that were filmed at The Old Vic.
Directed by Matthew Warchus and broadcast earlier this year, Duncan Macmillan’s LUNGS and Brian Friel’s Faith Healer are back by popular demand with the recorded versions of the live shows available to watch again in the comfort of your own home.
Every performance will be captioned and audio described and available to stream globally.
Michael Sheen stars in Faith Healer, with support from David Threlfall and Indira Varma.
Leading man Michael has an extensive career in theatre including Frost/Nixon at the Donmar Warehouse, Hamlet at The Young Vic and Look Back in Anger at The National Theatre.
He has numerous films to his credit including The Queen, The Damned United, Far From The Madding Crowd and Tron.
In Faith Healer, Michael plays The Fantastic Francis Hardy who travels to the most remote corners of Wales, Scotland and Ireland attempting to heal those who wish to be healed. Francis’s wife Grace and manager Teddy complete this nomadic triptych, each with their own telling of the loss, love and struggle of life on the road with a seemingly predestined Faith Healer.
Brian Friel’s masterful and haunting Faith Healer is a kaleidoscopic ever-shifting exploration of the power of belief as the contradicting recollections of these three characters seek to reconcile with the past.
Faith Healer is suitable viewing for 14+ years and will be shown from January 20 to 22 at 7.30pm.
Claire Foy, who won several awards for her role at the young Queen Elizabeth in the first two series of Netflix hit The Crown, teams up with Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who) in Lungs, which revolves around a couple wrestling
with life’s big dilemmas. The ice caps are melting, there’s overpopulation, political unrest, everything’s going to hell in a handcart! Why on earth would someone bring a baby into this world?
Lungs runs from January 27 to 29, again aimed at 14+ years audience.
