Police are searching for the driver involved in a suspected hit and run in Sunderland which saw one man taken to hospital.
Officers were called to North Moor Lane in Sunderland at around 2.15pm on Wednesday, following a collision between a moped and a car.
The male rider of the moped was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
But the car that was involved – believed to be a red Nissan – had already left the scene, and police are now looking to trace the driver as part of their ongoing investigation.
PC Graham Smith , of Northumbria Police, said: “This was a nasty collision which resulted in a man being taken to hospital.”
“We are appealing for the driver of the vehicle involved to come forward.”
