Cannabis plants find after blaze
A drug farm filled with more than 100 plants was discovered by police after they were alerted to a house fire.
On Sunday, officers from Peterlee Neighbourhood Police team dismantled the large cannabis grow at an address in the Shotton Colliery area.
They had been called to the house following reports of a fire, and subsequently discovered the grow.
More than 100 mature cannabis plants and a substantial amount of equipment was recovered.
A spokesperson for the team said: “An investigation is now underway.
