A thief who stole £9,000 from two members of his own family has been jailed for a “serious breach of trust”.
CraigThomasMurrayplundered one Sunderland relative’s account on 64 occasions overasix-weekperiodtofleece him of £6,600 after obtaining his bank details for an agreed online transaction.
Healsostoleanother£2,410 from a second relative over a three-week period by spendingthesumonlineinhername.
South Tyneside Magistrates’CourtjailedMurrayfora year after judging the offences to be “a serious breach of trust of close family”.
Murray, 30, of Gretna Terrace,Gateshead,pleadedguilty toboththefts.Thecourt,which jailedhimfor26weeksforeach offence, also ordered him to pay compensation of £700 and £300.
