Call to take up the covid jab

The following is a message from my 76 year old mother, Linda Robinson, who recently received her Covid-19 vaccination at

River View Health Centre, Sunderland, and wants to encourage as many people as possible to get vaccinated.

She’s a real character and a massive advocate of Sunderland and its people.

She says: I am writing to say how delighted I am to have received my Covid-19 vaccination on Wednesday, January 13.

What a marvellous achievement that a vaccine can be engineered so quickly and bring us closer to getting our lives back!

I cannot wait, even if we must follow the rules for some time yet, to be able to hug my five children, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren again after so long.

The set up at River View Health Centre was efficient,

run by caring staff and importantly felt very safe.

Neither I, nor my husband, who received the jab after me, have experienced any side effects and we feel so grateful to have received the vaccination so quickly.

I hope that as many people as possible take up the offer of a vaccination, if they do so we will be one step closer to normality and being close to those we love.
