Defying Covid-19 to tie the knot

Mr and Mrs Bell were married on July 8 at Bede Tower, Sunderland. After two changed dates they decided to go ahead with five days to arrange it,

Lorna McAllister and Andrew Wilson’s wedding was supposed to be in June, but they married on August 13 at Sunderland Register Office.

This lovely picture was sent in by Ashdon Louise Harker of the wedding on October 2 at Gretna Green – after three cancellati­ons.

Mr and Mrs Marriner enjoyed their special day when getting married at Gretna Green on October 24.

Lozz and April Casey were married at Langley Castle, the day before it closed for the first lockdown, on March 19.

Paul Stewart and Gemma were married at South Shields Town Hall before a small celebratio­n in the back garden.

After having three different dates for 2020, Amy and Liam Kennedy finally got married on December 19 at St John’s Seaham.

Michael and Libby Gilboy’s wedding was postponed in June but finally happened at St Paul’s C of E Church, Ryhope, on August 8.

Sarah and Michael Edwards were married on October 10 at St Paul’s Church, Ryhope, with immediate family in the church

Joseph and Yasmin Brannen were married on October 24 at Holy Trinity, followed by a small reception at the Roker Hotel.
