Rule change to create more job opportunities
A jobs scheme to get young people into work is being changed in a bid to offer more opportunities.
The Government has announced it is dropping the minimumjobsthresholdinthe employmentKickstartscheme –aimedatgettingfirmstooffer six-monthworkplacementsto 16to24-year-oldswhoareinreceipt of Universal Credit.
From February 3, it is droppingtherequirementforfirms to create a minimum of 30 jobs in the hope of encouragingmorebusinessestojointhe scheme.
Since then, the £2billion schemehascreatedmorethan 120,000 jobs.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: "Young people are amongthehardesthitintimes like these, which is why we're doing everything we can to ensure they're not left without hope and opportunity.”
