Brewing up some memories of your favourite cafes for a cuppa and a chat

We asked followers of Wearside Echoes – the Sunderland Echo’s nostalgia page on Facebook – ‘Which was the Sunderland cafe you loved the most in decades gone by?’ Here are some of their replies.

Here is Bis Bar, pictured in 1965. It was a favourite with Elaine Davidson and Tony Poston.

Maxine Orme Bell loved the cafe that “used to be in Binns, think it was called the Coffee Mill”.

A 1983 view of Church Street in Seaham which includes Valente’s cafe, as well as Woolworths and the Robinson shoe shop.
