Wearside souvenirs now just a click away

A popular museum has launched an online shop in response to customer demand.

More people than ever before can now access a range of Sunderlandmade jewellery, homeware, books, stationery and accessories with the launch of Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens' new online shop.

In response to customer demand, the shop enables people from Sunderland and further afield to purchase a range of homegrown products and support Wearside's local artists and craft sellers.

A range of 241 new products have been designed especially for the shop's launch and are available exclusively online.

Among the products is a variety of adults and children's books exploring Sunderland's rich history, jewellery made by local creators and prints of artworks from the Museum stunning art collection.

All purchases support the Museum and Winter Gardens and safeguard its collections for future generations.

Sunderland City Council's Cabinet member for Vibrant City, Cllr Linda Williams said: "I am delighted to see Sunderland Museum launch a new online offering.

"We know that many independent retailers and creators have been affected by Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns, so it is fantastic that this online store will now provide a new way for people to buy unique local products from the comfort and safety of their homes."
