None are my favourites

- Gordon Beastall. Sent via email.

Corronavirus and global infection

Walking round shops in just one direction,

Socially distanced and masks held with strings

None of these are my favourite things. Presentations by Valance and Whitty

Graphs and charts with obtuse nitty gritty,

Musicians stay silent and nobody sings

None of these are my favourite things.

Living in bubbles or purely alone

Stadiums with sportsmen all out on their own,

Cleaning and sanitising with all that it brings

None of these are my favourite things.

Pubs all shut up – no chance of a drink

Businesses closed with some on the brink,

Tills now lie empty no sound of kerchings

None of these are my favourite things.

When the sun shines

When the birds sing

And my heart beats fast I simply remember my unfavourite things

And hope ... they will soon be past.
