Arrest for graffiti at barbers
Officers investigating graffiti aimed at a number of Turkish barbershops across Sunderland have made an arrest.
Northumbria Police confirmed to the Echo on Saturday, that a 22-yearold man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage as part of the investigation.
He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We can confirm a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after a spate of graffiti in Sunderland this week. Inquiries into the incidents are ongoing and the man remains in custody at this time.”
Speedy Turkish Barber on Holmeside, Oscar Super Cutz on Fawcett Street, Jimmy's Barber Shop on Borough Road and Magic Scissors barber shop on the Sea Road were all hit.
