Arrest for graffiti at barbers

Officers investigat­ing graffiti aimed at a number of Turkish barbershop­s across Sunderland have made an arrest.

Northumbri­a Police confirmed to the Echo on Saturday, that a 22-yearold man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage as part of the investigat­ion.

He remains in custody while inquiries continue.

A spokespers­on for the force said: “We can confirm a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after a spate of graffiti in Sunderland this week. Inquiries into the incidents are ongoing and the man remains in custody at this time.”

Speedy Turkish Barber on Holmeside, Oscar Super Cutz on Fawcett Street, Jimmy's Barber Shop on Borough Road and Magic Scissors barber shop on the Sea Road were all hit.
