Let me entertain you, says new loan star Jordan

-

Jordan Jones says he hopes to bring Sunderland fans some entertainment – after clinching his move to the Stadium of Light.

The winger has penned a loan deal on Wearside until the end of the current season and joins the club from Scottish giants Rangers, whom he joined in 2019.

Jones has prior experience of the North East having come through the ranks at

Middlesbrough – and he also spent time on loan at Hartlepool United in League Two.

He headed to Kilmarnock in 2016 and caught the eye north of the border, earning him international recognition and a move to Rangers.

And now he’s set to team up with the Black Cats for the remainder of the campaign as he becomes the club’s third addition of the winter window – following Carl

Winchester and Jake Vokins through the door.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Jones said: “I’m absolutely over the moon and I’m delighted to be here.

"I know what football means to people in the North East and how much Sunderland means to the supporters, so hopefully I can bring them some entertainment and good results.”

Lee Johnson added: “As

Jordan comes in, we are looking forward to working with him and seeing what he brings to our squad. He is a player with the type of qualities that fit the positional profile we wanted to add to the group.”

Jones’ deal was still subject to international clearance at the weekend, meaning he was unavailable for the League One clash with Gillingham.
