Seven more die with coronavirus

A further seven coronavirus-related deaths have been confirmed at Sunderland’s NHS hospital trust, bringing the total deaths to 795.

NHS England confirmed yesterday that a further 356 people, who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 72,145.

Patients were aged between 22 and 103. All except 20 (aged 50 to 96) had known health conditions.

Across the UK on Sunday, it was announced that 23,275 more people have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 3,796,088.

In Sunderland, there were 127 new cases on Sunday. The total number of cases since March is now 18,629.
