Mum proves she’s all heart for charity

-

Baby Lily McKenzie’s introduction to the world was as traumatic as they get. As her mum reveals today, little Lily was no sooner out of the womb than she was on the operating table having a pacemaker fitted!

It was as head spinning for mum Charlotte as it was heartstopping for everyone else involved.

Thankfully, today Lily is a picture of health and as much of a handful as any other bright-eyed and bubbly 19-month-old.

But Charlotte has never forgotten the help she received from charity The Sick Children’s Trust in her hour of need.

As she tells us today, while her baby was fighting for her life, the charity stepped in to find her a place to stay nearby.

Charlotte said: "I hadn’t thought about where I was going to stay so it was absolutely amazing when I was told everything had been sorted and we could stay at Scott House.

“We stayed at Scott House for six days until

Lily was well enough to be transferred back to our local hospital in Sunderland.”

In an effort to thank

The Sick Children’s Trust for their support during her ordeal, mum Charlotte raised funds for the charity by running 62miles throughout January.

Already her efforts have raised £200 for the charity which supports families with a seriously-ill child in hospital.

What a fantastic story and a fabulous effort by Charlotte to repay the charity. We’re delighted to publicise the work of this charity and hope you’ll lend your support. Well done to all involved.
