Sunderland Echo

In a parallel universe

-

Alan Wright seems to have made a New Year’s resolution to attack

Keir Starmer at every opportunity, no doubt with May's elections in mind.

It won't work. Sunderland people are not that stupid to believe his nonsense.

Imagine we live in a parallel universe where Starmer was the Prime Minister.

What do you think Alan would have to say about a Labour leader who missed five Cobra meetings at the start of the crisis?

A leader who failed to lockdown early enough and secure our borders because he had a cunning plan - herd immunity?

One who presided over a PPE shortage and was in charge when infected patients were allowed back into their care homes?

A leader who sacked top civil servants and backed his

chief advisor who placed his son in a confined space with two infected parents for five hours and later drove for 60 miles to test his eyesight?

Also, one who spent £20bn on a farcical

Test, Track and Trace app, ignored Sage advice and caused exam confusion?

Now we have 100,000 covid-related deaths - the worst in Europe.

Yes Alan, I think we all know what you would have said.
