Free advice offer for small firms

-

Small firms in the North East are being offered free mentoring advice to combat the impact of the pandemic.

BT has launched a new mentoring programme - in partnership with Digital Boost, a free non-profit platform – and pledged to deliver at least 1,000 free one-to-one coaching sessions in the region as part of its Small Business Support Scheme.

The mentoring initiative aims to upskill small business on a range of topics, including cyber security, marketing, social media and strategy.

BT launched its Small Business Support scheme last summer – a broad range of measures to help small businesses get better positioned for growth during and beyond the pandemic.

The scheme aims to do this by boosting the connectivity, cashflow and confidence that many small businesses say they lack as a result of the ongoing public health crisis.

Sarah Walker, BT director for corporate and public sector in the North of England, said: “Helping small businesses to acquire new skills and boost their confidence during these exceptionally challenging times is a central to our Small Business Support Scheme.

"We’ve already equipped 20,000 small businesses with digital skills.

"I would encourage any small businesses in the North East who feel they would benefit from this support to book a spot as soon as possible."
