STORY:

Have your had your Covid-19 vaccine yet? What is the one thing you'd like to tell other people about it.

Melanie Smith: Both myself and husband had the AstraZeneca and we took paracetamol as a precaution. The only thing we felt the next day was feeling tired. Looking forward to the 2nd one. Good luck everyone and stay safe.

Erin Honora: I had my first dose (Pfizer) on 28th January. Headache, sore arm and nausea but so grateful to have had it!

Eleanor Forster: Had mine a couple of weeks ago at Grindon drop in centre. They were very well organised - only waited 5 minutes prevaccination. Injection itself didn't hurt, arm was slightly tender around the site for a few hours, other than that no side effects whatsoever. Oxford vaccine.

Maureen Eley: Had mine at Riverview ,Hendon, good experience, but unlike many friends we were not given our date on the card for 2nd jab.

Lisa Lane: Got mine on Friday, no side effects. We need to get our country back on its feet.

Lexi Atherton: I had my first Pfizer jab on December 31st at Washington Primary

Care Centre, the staff had a great system in place. Safe, socially distanced and all kept at ease. The only side effects I had from the vaccine was general joint ache, headache and a little tenderness in the arm where my jab was administered.

All subsided within 48 hours. Just waiting for my second vaccine and should be ready to go back into normal living and back to work. I would say to anyone who feels worried that, the Covid 19 vaccines aren’t just a made up on the spot vaccine - they are based around the vaccines created to stop the likes of SARS in its tracks. A lot more is known about the safety of medicines used for our vaccines than you know, you won’t contract Covid 19 from the vaccine. You can do your bit and volunteer to be monitored through our NHS to report any symptoms/ side effects after having the vaccine - this in turn will help our scientists massively! Everyone is entitled to say no, and it doesn’t make them a bad person. Lots of people are moaning about others not having the vaccines but human rights are to be adhered to too. I look forward to having my next vaccine, having been in shielding since April 2020 I can’t wait to see a bit of normality and return to doing what I love and seeing who I love.
