Nominate 'dementia heroes'
People in Sunderland and East Durham are being invited to nominate individuals and organisations who have gone the extra mile to support people affected by dementia.
Nominations are now open for Alzheimer’s Society’s annual Dementia Heroes Awards, which will take place virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic on May 20 and help mark Dementia Action Week – May 17 to 23.
The awards aim to recognise people doing outstanding things during the pandemic.
The awards will be hosted by Alzheimer’s Society supporter and TV presenter, writer and journalist Richard Madeley.
Nominations close on Friday, March 5, and can be made at www.alzheimers.org.uk/dementiaheroawards
