-

More than a month has passed since Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the third national lockdown in England in a televised address to the nation.

Lockdown 3, set out by Mr Johnson on January 4, once again called on the nation to stay at home as much as possibletoprotecttheNHSandsave lives, going out only for a number of limited reasons.

These include essential shopping, for daily exercise andtoattendmedicalappointments.

The rules were voted on in the House of Commons on Wednesday, January 6 before passing into legislation.

ThePrimeMinistersaidthe Government will set out a “route map” out of lockdown on Monday, February 22.

We asked Echo readers to share their views on the latest national restrictions, one month on.

This is what you had to say on the Sunderland Echo Facebook page:

Elaine Johnson: “We need to learn to live with this now. Let's get the vaccinations done ASAP and get the country open.”

Amber Winter Unsworth: “I’m a hairdresser - I won’t feel comfortable going back to work until I have a vaccine or the virus is nearly gone/gone. The restrictions need to get tougher, the tougher the restrictions are, the faster we will all be back to work and normal.”

Jim Tansey: “The restrictions aren't the problem. It's the people who are.”

Bryan Seddon: “Tougher restrictions, close borders, curfew like Spain and other countries have done to stop it getting any worse. No matter whathedoes, somepeoplewill think it’s wrong.”

Kate Yates: “Tougher, doesn'tfeelanythinglikealockdown one bit.”
